Hello! Brief update to let you know that next week, I’m once again running two events with my friend Misha Glouberman in San Francisco.
The first, on Wednesday the 20th, is Trampoline Hall, the most fun lecture series in the world. I experience difficulty when trying to describe it to people, because the phrases “lecture series” and “fun” are rightly antithetical for most people. But Trampoline Hall feels less like an educational exercise and more like a theatre piece where an entire room achieves a higher and weirder state of being. I love that I can continue bringing it to SF.
This episode features the inimitable and infamous Aella, as well as Robert Long and Govind Manian, who are no less interesting even though they aren’t PR wizards at Aella’s level. The lectures will be on emotions, plastic surgery, and dancing.
It sells out, so I would recommend getting tickets ASAP if it interests you.
The second, on Monday the 18th, is Tell Me Everything, Now Stop Talking, a participatory show where we try to see how fast we can get to know a total stranger. This I’d describe as having a similar feeling as Trampoline Hall, but it’s a bit more personal and low-budget and scrappier. You will have a greater ability to ask me embarrassing personal questions as part of this event.
They will both be great, I’d be happy to see all of you at either or both.
Is it possible to find out more about these events and how they are run? I dont live in the USA, but am interested in trying to emulate them in London
Ooh, I'm actually going to be in the Bay next week! I might join you.
